Easy as 1, 2, 3: tackling the triptych with Martha Lane

A triptych is three associated pieces of art, music or text that work together to create a bigger picture. In this two-hour generative workshop we will explore the techniques we can use to create stories full of connected threads. Is it the same character in three periods of their life? The same setting bearing witness to three important events? Perhaps the same situation interpreted differently by three strangers? A triptych gives a writer the chance to expand their themes and ideas while sticking to those tight confines of flash fiction that we all know and love.

To celebrate Martha's workshop, The Flash Cabin will be sharing a link to one flash fiction triptych each day from August 1st to August 13th. You can find the links to stories by clicking here, or by following us on Facebook or Twitter.

ABOUT THE FACILITATOR

Martha Lane is a prose writer from the blustery North East. She writes extensively about grief, nature, class and all things unrequited. Many of her stories can be found online at http://marthalane.co.uk.

Her speculative novella (about grief and nature of course), Lies Over the Ocean, is available to buy on Amazon. She loves writing and facilitating workshops is such a lovely way to share the joy!
