POV & Narrative Perspective

with Alison Woodhouse

Point of View and Narrative Perspective with Alison Woodhouse
A two-hour craft workshop.

ABOUT THE WORKSHOP
One of the most important choices a writer makes is point of view, or how the story will be told. POV is the perspective through which a story is told and influences the tone, style, and plot of the story. In this workshop we will experiment with different points of view to tell the story. First Person (the observing I), second person (you, your, yourself), third person (limited, multiple, omniscient), collective fourth person (we, us). The narrative perspective can be the protagonist, a secondary character, an observer, an unreliable narrator, even the cat!

Join me to look at the strengths and limitations of different POV’s. We’ll look at examples and then put what we’ve learnt into practice, with a chance to share your work with the class.
